Healthcare

Health care is a human right.  One’s ability to receive quality health care when it's needed should never be dependent on one’s income or employment status or citizenship.

I will enthusiastically support measures that will bring universal healthcare coverage to the people in New Hampshire, and I will work to make New Hampshire a place that attracts world-class health care providers and state-of-the-art medical, research, and educational facilities.

Education

A comprehensive and rigorous public education is the backbone of a thriving democracy.  A well-educated citizenry promotes innovation and creativity, fosters security and prosperity, and actively participates in community and civic life to the benefit of all.

I vow to be a champion for public education, from pre-k through public college.  I support changing the way New Hampshire funds public schools so that teachers and students can work in state-of-the-art facilities and with ample materials that support vigorous learning across a variety of delivery methods.

I will promote the appointment of well-qualified administrators who prioritize the educational and emotional needs of our students over standardized tests and artificial metrics of accountability.

Employment & Wages

All work is valuable; if a job is important enough to hire someone to do it, that person deserves a living wage for their labor.   Workers also deserve safe working conditions and protections against mistreatment.

I fully support a minimum wage that allows all workers to thrive in their communities.  I want to move NH away from being an “at will” employment state.  I will always vote against so-called “right to work” bills and will always support workers’ rights to organize in unions.

Equality

2020 is showing us the weaknesses in all of our systems; healthcare, education, housing, employment and wages, voting, public safety and policing.  We have an enormous amount of work to do together to re-imagine these systems to be more just, more fair, and more sustainable for everyone, across race, gender expression, sexual orientation, class, and ability.

I will support reforms in all of our systems that address inequalities wherever they appear, and I will continue to advocate for legislation that moves our communities toward equality and dignity for every person.

Environment

Climate concerns should be the single most important action items on all our agendas; none of what we do now matters if we don’t have a livable planet in the future.

I support the Green New Deal and will vote for measures taken on the state level that aspire to the priorities and goals of that plan.  I will support initiatives that promote renewable energies and the reduction of state dependence on fossil fuels, and I will also oppose the Granite Bridge pipeline.
